Default Compact flash cards

Has anyone had a similar problem to me and if so what did they do about it?

After my usual daily shoot today I returned home and found all my photos were corrupted, try as I might I couldn't open them, I tried another CF card in the camera and bingo, no problems.
I use 2gb 6.0mbs, 40x cards by integral. Are there problems concerning this manufacturers cards, or is it just that they need formating regularly.

Any Ideas.

Alan,

I can't say I've used this brand of card, but I'm in the habit of formatting every card (using the camera's format tool, not in a PC) every time I put it in the camera. I think this is a good habit to get into.

Thanks for the advice, it's a habit I'm now going to get into. Because of my own stupidity I've now got to go back and hope that red deer stag will forget his females and pose for me again. A warning to everyone not to be as complacent as me.

Alan

Before formating or recapturing images on your CF, try a Recovery Software. I have successfully recovered almost every time, I had corrupted pictures even after adversely removing the CF from reader, when pc was read/writing on the card. Hope its not too late or you may not deal with the deer again.

I use, or at least have, San Disk's RescuePro too, it is supplied with every Extreme III card. Never had to use it in anger but when I tried a recovery of everything on a card that had been used over a long period of time it recovered a huge amount of files from over a year earlier. Just as an experiment, I formatted the card and then tried to recover what was on there, it still found about 90% of the images that were there prior to reformatting.

Alan;
That Sandisc referred, if you can find the free download, is very good.
Last time I checked it, it was to be purchased.

Olie left me a very good referral list that once on the site, you will find at least one free on that does the job you want. Check this thread's last post:

BTW this brings us to the question of where is world is Olie? Is he by any chanced married and banned to show up on WPF?
