Yes, I still consider myself one of the younger ones, but this kind of thing is happening more frequently now!

Glad a link has been posted with more detail....from memory there was an art to it. The best were the ones with slider arrangements (ie tags borrowed from a tent) so that you could vary the height/length of the string very quickly. Great if you are handing your pocket stabiliser to others of different heights, or want IS when sitting down too!
Better with lighter camera/lens kits than with heavier ones as unlike monopods or tripods it doesn't help tired arms

I think they have stoolen my ideas again...
But to be honest mine didn't work...
I use elastic band instead of string.
