Default What's the Catch?

Flickr are offering a terabyte of cloud space at no cost and we can keep every image private if we like. Why would they do that?

Thank you very much for that Harry. In spite of all the comment I think I'll slowly begin to upload my relatively tiny "portfolio".
Whatever else it's a back up for free.

Peter I think it's well worth while, but I'll still back-up to an external drive. Belts and Braces come to mind

I have photos on Adobe's & Canons web sites, but I don't like the way they're going, especially Adobe, so will be moving all my photos to flickr.

Two words:
- Competition
- Google.

You know how much Yahoo loves Google. So what would they do once they owned Flickr?
