Wow - thats some lens but I would need a tractor to haul one around at 15.7 kg. Nice to see that they are throwing in a 2x tc (or 400-100 f5.6 attachement as they describe it).
The 150-500 f5.6 with OS looks interesting at 1.9 kg

I am absolutely not surprise for the prise. Well after all this is another first ever! lens made by Sigma that is known to do this often. I am sure the street prise is a lot cheaper but I have just started saving for a black eyeglass, long black ski hat, a black good looking toy handgun that may look real, to make a short trip to the bank...  http://a.img-dpreview.com/news/0801/...ma_200-500.jpg

Perhaps it is possible to customise golf trolleys for photographers, or maybe ex-military light artillery carriers for Sassan's lens procurement technique first, then to carry and use instead of tripod after?

If you get one of these, you have the answer for both how to get the money and how to mount it afterwards !!! Either that or tell the wife it's not that heavy!!!
