After Foxys post of the Hassleblad lens this is my contribution. The Seitz 6 x 17. Not in the same league price wise but certainly will not fit in my bag.

A view of it in the hands about 3/4 down the page.

Wow, that's one wide field of view. Initially I thought it was as large as a mobile phone but then... I saw that chap holding one, it must be just short of one metre wide!

At 160Mpx I shudder to thing how large the RAW files are!

Interesting machine. So one holds one end of this wide thing with each hand, and assuming that red bottom in middle front is shuttle release, the release the shutter by pressing his nose on it... Or am I missing something here.

Sassan you are right. Much is made of ability to hand hold in publicity material but I will not be going to Photokina to check it out.

Stephen, Raw file size 307mb. To put that in some context, my approx 10mb NEF's become 70mb TIFF's. Therefore you could expect 307mb RAW to produce a TIFF in the region of 2GB

Spec at bottom of page says 2.8kg for camera body, plus 2.6kg for "mobility set". I have to say that the pic showing the guy holding it made me think of a small baby holding an adult sized piece of equipment. It has a certain surreal, comic, quality to it, though this was far from the intention I'm sure.

LOL - reminded me of one of those chest expanders people used in the 70's.
