I am trying to compile a collection of images to use in a portfolio That I want to create to showcase my work.
I have already took the plunge and got myself a website of sorts, but find alot of my family and friends don't go on-line so id like to make a nice hard copy, like a nice coffee table book. I have made a couple using blurb and they are pretty good......I would just like to know what else is out there? Which ones have you used and were they any good? |

Might be worth having a word with glenvic, I know Glenys has just had a book done of a recent holiday she had, but I can't remember which company she used. The end product looked quite well done.

Thanks duncan....had a change of plan. What im looking for now is a kind of nice leather photo/portfolio album, that i can use to display my best work, but can be updated easily by switching photos when ever needed.
Does anyone know of a good binder or suitable book i could use for this purpose. |

Hi Lee. I looked into a post bound binder when I was doing My course last year. They were very good and it did mean that you can change the images in the book without difficulty. I'll have a look for the info and post it on here for you. The book I have just had done was by Albelli - I was very impressed with the quality and speed of getting it done And would definitely recommend it.
In the meantime have a look at this site - they have a sale on at the moment http://www.photogether.co.uk/sale/Albums_Post_Bound/ Last edited by Glenvic; 29-10-10 at 20:55. |

Most good camera shops have such things, I believe they are called 'photo albums' and were used many decades ago when photos always existed either on film (not very representative) or as prints (very representative). The evidence suggests that people would place these prints in the 'photo album', a device that required no electricity, had no pixels and had physical pages. The prints could be added or removed using a intuitive touch sensitive interface known as fingers.
*Sarcasm mode off* Jessops, Amazon, eBay etc will supply you with a photo album. |

I wouldn't show my photos off in any of those albums you suggested Alex, sorry. Cheap and nasty things if you ask me. Went and scoured the high-street on Saturday and couldn't find anything that would impress anyone, let alone something id want to display my work in. I have found what im looking for, but it comes at a cost, which looking at what's about im willing to pay. I think it should pay for its self. http://www.lovegroveconsulting.com/l...ortfolios.aspx this is the one im going to get.... |
