I am a ferret as far as software (especially freeware) and tutorials etc are concerned, so you'll have to forgive me if you have seen these before. I usually find most of the sites are of interest to most people in this sort of community. Anyway, I have come across this piece of software that I consider to be excellent. It states that it can do the following....

I think its a question of "use what suits you best"
Personaly i am sold on "XN-view" , also a free download off the net with many built in features. I have deleted all the other photo softwares i had on the hard drive as this one does it all for me. |

Each to their choice, but this does quite a bit more than Xn-viwer, as I have that as well, along with PS CS2, Picasa and other photosoftware. It all depends on what you want to do with your pics.
